Description
We bought a site right at the gateway to the 67 acre King’s Cross Central development and have refurbished the existing Stanley building which is a small listed building (last example of one of the first examples of social housing in London) and then wrapped a new building around it to create a new 30,000 sq ft office building.
It’s directly opposite the Eurostar entrance and one of the first buildings you see when you head north from the King’s Cross station concourse. And we have some cool neighbours too – Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, BNP Baribas and an up and coming outfit called Google with their European HQ being about 40 yards away.
Studio Downie Architects worked with Wells Mackereth to create space for a range of office sizes, meeting rooms and co-working spaces. We also went Green again with a green roof terrace, rainwater harvesting, PV panels, CHP heating and a proper lighting strategy (sensors, low energy etc).
